Books! Books! Books! Michelle Morgan Spady was reading and writing before she ever entered elementary school. By first grade, she knew that she would be a school teacher. Her first students were her siblings, and her favorite game to play with them was one of pretend school, and she was always the teacher. Spelling and reading were her favorite subjects for the make-believe classroom. By tenth grade, she had been inspired by an English teacher, Mrs. Collins, who assured her that she had a talent for writing. College called. She answered. Next move, Virginia State College, Petersburg, VA. A year later, feeling adventurous, curious and remembering the words of Mrs. Collins, she transferred to the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah where she received her B.A. in English with a minor in Business Education. Her real license to teach.
Satisfying her corporate hunger, she successfully worked as a systems analyst and major account sales representative at a Fortune 500 company. Then the entrepreneurial bug bit and exploration brought about established businesses such as a state licensed childcare center, service and training contracts with the state lottery, and finally narrowing it down to her love for reading and writing, she started a business with her son, aptly named "B'Artful."
Combining her experiences in business, education, and entrepreneurship, Michelle Morgan Spady has authored and published five books. Titles include An Artist and His Obsession; 7 Days 2 Tell; ShoozyQ and the AB Crew in Bully on the Playground; Enough Was Never Enough, and recently published, children's book, Kiana S.M.A.R.T. for Class President. She and son, Bradford O. Spady, an artist, and visual storyteller collaborate on book projects.
